Networking & Edge
These pages control how instances reach each other, how traffic reaches them, and how that traffic is delivered and protected at the edge.
Networking
Section titled “Networking”Networking manages six resource types, each on its own tab with a count above it:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Networks | Private networks where instances reach each other. |
| Routers | Route traffic between networks and to the internet. |
| Floating IPs | Public addresses you can move between instances. |
| Firewalls | Security groups that filter traffic. Each region starts with a default group. |
| Reserved IPs | Addresses held for your account. |
| Load Balancers | Spread incoming traffic across instances. |
Until you create a network, instances can only use the provider-assigned public interface. Select Create network to start.
Placement groups
Section titled “Placement groups”A placement group decides whether instances share a physical host or avoid one.
- Affinity groups keep instances together, for low latency between them.
- Anti-affinity groups spread instances across hosts, so one host failure cannot take them all down.
Select Create group to create one.
CDN & WAAP
Section titled “CDN & WAAP”Content delivery with web application and API protection (WAAP). CDN & WAAP is a global service, so the region selector does not apply to it. The summary shows resources used against your allowance, origin groups, certificates, and how many resources have WAAP turned on.
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Resources | CDN resources. Start here with Create resource. |
| Origin Groups | The backends that a CDN resource pulls content from. |
| SSL Certificates | Certificates that CDN resources serve. |
| Logs | Delivery logs. |
| Statistics | Traffic and request statistics. |
| WAAP | Web application and API protection settings. |
| IP Spotlight | Insight into the client IP addresses reaching your resources. |
| Custom Pages | Your own pages to show visitors in place of the defaults. |
Secrets
Section titled “Secrets”Secrets stores TLS certificates that your load balancers serve HTTPS from. Select Store certificate to add one. A load balancer can only use a certificate stored in the same region.
